------- Additional Comments From aaronw at net dot com 2005-06-02 01:16 ------- I traced this to a problem with Sun's grep. Replace the grep lines with fgrep in the configure script and it works fine. Apparently grepping conftest.o for the endian string fails with /bin/grep but works with fgrep.
