It would be very useful if I could configure the default target CPU to be an ultrasparc instead of the default since this gives a major performance boost to the target in many cases. I am sure there's some way of doing this, but if so it isn't documented anywhere. Not only that, but it would also be useful to be able to optimize a compiler for a particular processor. In our case, we don't have anything below an Ultrasparc that we need to support and I imagine there's many other organizations in the same boat. I'm sure many people would also find it useful for other platforms, i.e. x86.
