While it is still unclear whether what libsigc++ did is a libsigc++ bug or a g++ bug, the libsigc++ folks went ahead and produced a patch to fix the issue in their code, in order not to rely on something that is potentially unspecified by the C++ standard. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=20304
