Confirmed, most reduced testcase:
struct name {};
void g ()
{
  if (int name = 1)
  ;
}

: Search converges between 2002-12-14-trunk (#159) and 2002-12-29-trunk (#160).
Looks like it was introduced by the new C++ parser.
