You only are supposed to get one grenade per playthrough, but I keep hearing of people getting one grenade per instance of the app. My friend discovered a work-around. Unequip then reequip the grenade in your inventory.
I have to say, and I know I'm probably coming off as whiny, but I wish the grenade was a bit better. It does a hundred damage, if I recall correctly, and its range is very limited. I mean, the m4a1 and AK47 do fifty damage a shot and their range is significantly greater. Maybe they forgot a zero in the grenade's damage expression, or maybe I missed one, but at this point, there just doesn't seem to be much point to the device.
