nope, star ships would not be correct for alterean, but maybe with the new
ship system that is entering the game you might considder altering some of
the coding for sea going vessels to create islands instead of planets.
I'd love to start exploring the seas of the game and discovering new
islands, however I'm not currently sure what the ship system allows,
particularly if it allows a player to have their own ship solo or whether
crewing ships is only a group thing.
However, presumably for the starship code, you implemented one man vessels
and vessels with an ai crew, which could be great additions to the
seafairing aspects of the game.
Of course, sinse I'm stil on arcase (which seems to have a ship yard but no
way of actually trying sailing beyond what is possible with the swimming
skill), I've not really investigated this aspect of the game yet, though as
someone who loves exploration I'm quite eager to.
All the best,
Dark.

Subject: Re: [Audyssey] strategy or space combat MUDS?
On a somewhat related topic, I long ago built up a big piece of code
that generates star systems and planets, but never did anything with
it. I've always had this idea that it would be really cool to
integrate that code into a game and let people explore with it, but it
never seemed an appropriate thing to add to a fantasy mud. I should
take another look at that code one of these days.

star conquest was by far the best space mud I ever played, and I played it
hard for quite a while.
They have a mining game built into the main system for earning credits,
that is in itself a real blast to play, the only command and conquer style
game i've ever seen in a mud.
If you join up, I highly recommend you go with The Fringe for your
alliance, last time I was there, far less know it all jerks in the Fringe
than the other alliances, and a much tighter community overall.
I would also recommend you check out VIPMud for your client. Its designed
with accessibility in mind, and there are a lot of custom scripts, sound
effects etc. for it that really enhance the experience.
I don't have direct info to the mud on this system but google will turn it
up.
Good luck,

Hello,
I'm new to MUDS, but want to expand my game horizons. I'm wondering if
anyone can recommend any good Strategy MUDS or space combat MUDS?
I'm going to use Mush Client and it's accessible scripts.
Thanks.
Dave.
