That makes sense also. And then on top of that if you did somehow manage to
cheat your way through the level you'd still get the sarcastic remark from
the computer. Like the fantasy title I'm developoing. Well obviously I
haven't even begun actual work on it since my BGT coding skills are nowhere
near that level yet, but I have been trying to work out storyline and
gameplay and all that so that when I do get to that point all the groundwork
or at least most of it is already down. You'll be playing the role of a
knight sent to stop an evil villain whose exact nature I haven't yet decided
on from conquering your war-ravaged kingdom. There might be cheat codes
(although I haven't decided for sure on that either). But if there are I
thought of having either your superior (the king or queen of the realm) or
the game's antagonist waiting for you after you finish the game, ready with
some withering, sarcastic comment to throw at you for using cheat codes.
Heck, I might even let Sir Cedric himself take a jab at the cheating player
LOL.

Subject: [Audyssey] using cheats in games - Re: quick question on a demo
Ifound.
I like the idea that you cannot complete a game by using cheats. If
possible, what I would like to see is that the final level of a game
requires you to use what you have previously learned in order to complete.
Of course, since you've cheated, you haven't learned. Sort of like using a
chess computer to work your way through a chess tournament that has been
played online and winning all the games until the final game, then finding
out that the final game is an over-the-board game against the two
finalists. Now, you cannot use the computer. You have to rely on your own
skill at the game. Guess what? You're done for.

Or do like what Philip does for Q9 and have it not play the actual ending
if you use cheats. Instead you could have Athena or Angela make some
really sarcastic comment about it. I'm probably going to do something
like that myself. There may be cheats in some of my games but you won't
get to hear the ending if you use them.

I love that idea. Can you put something into the game that would cause
that to happen if people use cheat codes? (ornery ha ha ha)

Hi,
Yeah, very nice in deed. Lol!
I can see it now. Handing my customers a bunch of cheat codes for
Mysteries of the Ancients. They use them to reach the final level, and
when they walk in Athena says something to the effect "you cheated"
and uses Zues's thunderbolt to blow you to pieces. Now, that would be
funny. I wonder how many winers and complainers would have something
nasty to say about that. Hahahaha!

You remember that game I mentioned a few months back that had a scene
where the floor of the phone booth drops out from under your feet?
There was also a cheat mode, but you could only cheat 3 times, and if
you tried to cheat a 4th time, you'd get teleported into a room with
no exits, and then the troll would appear and chop off your head.
Haha!
There was also a room with a quote kindly old gentalman unquote who
would quote calmly shoot you through the head unquote if you didn't
give him your treasures, and if you used the cheat feature elsewhere
in the game, as soon as you walked into his room, he would say
something like "I hate cheaters" and he would kill you there and
then. Nice, eh?
