I always try to reserve the slingshot for bears but it always seemed like
other enemies kept getting in the way. And of course it didn't help that I
blew a major opportunity when I happened to get really lucky with a FOrtune
Field early on and got up to almost 500 strength. But instead of leaving
well enough alone I had to keep trying. Let's just say Q9 became extremely
suicidal LOL.

I beat the level mainly by luck. had a bunch of shields which I used when
there were a pile of enemies after me, and ammo for all the bears in the
level. had like 30% health when I finished which was real close. for the
boss I also used rocks since that's pretty much the only effective way to
beat him, and also activating shields to keep him from rushing me like a
wild beast. I kept getting cheap shots by jumping back and forth over the
pit when he got close and nailing him a couple of times.

I've never managed to do it since like you I always seem to get swarmed
by multiple enemies (bears and rhinos usually), and if I do survive my
health is so low there's no chance at all of me getting even halfway
through the level. And while I saved most of my slingshot ammo till Death
World level 2 I have at most 200 rocks for my slingshot. I believe the
proper phrase is...d'oh!
