The Hale Blade can actually heal you completely or almost completely sometimes. Granted those occasions are extremely rare, but back before Gobblindoom and the Giantfell Blade I always felt more secure in the nowledge that there was at least the chance that my sword could possibly heal my wounds. Saved my arse on more than one occasion I can tell you.
