Hi,
I obviously can't tell you what to do, but I can lend some advice for
what it is worth.
Seriously, buying the cheat codes is a mistake in my opinion. Sure it
will allow you to cheat to your hearts desire, but it will also have
some side effects you need to be aware of.

1. Cheat codes do not work on the boss level in 1.2. As a result you
will be marching around thinking you are Mr. Invincible, and suddenly
discover you have no cheats to fall back on. If you don't know how to
live without those cheats you are going to be in deep trouble on level
9. So you really need some practice without cheats in order to face the
boss and his monster guards.
2. Cheat codes don't allow you to pick up ammo, power ups, and other
things on the level while some cheat codes are on. As a result if you
have a cheat like all ammo active when you hit level 9 and you haven't
collected anything the minute your cheats are disabled you can easily
find your self in a situation with little ammo, power, etc to complete
the game. This is a big reason for not using too many cheats and not to
be in cheat mode all the time.
3. Cheat codes can potentially make the game so easy that you never
really learn how to play without them. For example if you had unlock any
lock on you would never know what security chip does what because you
can pick the lock for any door, crate, or lever, you find.

Bottom line, cheat codes is a personal thing, but I did want to give you
at least the side effects of using them. Yeah, you can use them, but in
the end cheaters can find themselves in trouble in a situation they
either can't find there cheat codes, or when they reach level 9 and have
no cheats to fall back on.

Cheers.
