Hi  Greg

  Phil wrote a good article in a very early Audyssey magazine.  In short 
what he suggested was to use something like a cardboard pizza box, and map 
pins with the plastic heads to mark off where you have been.
  If the directions were to a spacific place I suppose you could always 
write them into a text file.  This method wouldn't be very good for general 
map making though.
  Normally in mudding I find it's a matter of getting used to the area, and 
finding experienced players to help show you around.
