Hi there,
Well, I can tell you that playing MK Armageddon for the Wii is going to
be a trip. I personally can't wait to try it, as I have the PS2 version
of the game, and would love to perform some of those special moves and
fatalities using the motion controls. To answer your question though, no
location information is required. The arenas aren't large enough for
anyone to lose their opponent as they are in, for instance, Marvel
Nemysis. The sounds of battle aren't actually in stereo for some unknown
reason, but given the ease with which one can find their opponent, it's
hardly necessary. The only two things one might have to worry about are
deathtraps, which have sounds associated with them in some cases, and
moves that cause your opponent to switch sides with you. As you may
know, performing special moves is dependent on hitting the right
combination of buttons. A move could be, for example, back, forward,
then the C button. However, which direction back or forward is depends
on which side of the arena you're on as opposed to your opponent's side.
The key is figuring out which moves each player has to change sides, and
paying attention to when those moves are performed. Trust me, this is
easier than it sounds.
Last but not least, I urge you to listen to the MK Armageddon samples I
have on my web site: http://www.brandoncole.net. This will give you a
fairly good idea of what the game sounds like, and give you a chance to
see which character might suit you. It's not going to give you a
certainty, as nothing is truly described, but if a certain character
sounds cool, well, there ya go. Have fun, and I hope you like the game
when you get it.
Sincerely,
Brandon
