Yep. Carly Simon had the perfect song for them, "your so vain."
I have no idea where this attitude of old is bad comes from with people 
of my generation and younger, but it is totally illogical as Mr. Spock 
would say.
After all Lord of the Rings was written before most of those on this 
list were born, and it is hugely popular world wide. I wonder how many 
folks with the old is bad attitude would stop watching the Lord of the 
Rings movies and reading books if they knew the first book was started 
in the 1930's and the last books didn't appear until the late 1940's or so.
