Aha, seems to be a bug related to my sound in some way, since the ships
definetely sound in mono, although other sounds in the game are heard in
stereo like people running around and the vulcanic fires, chests and other
items. Most peculiar.
I did update my Windows PC to Windows 10 Anniversary update the other day.
Hope MS didn't break anything sound related.
This is quite a serious bug because I'm currently in that particular
situation in which I have to have a descent score in the space game to get
on with the story.
Now, at least, I know theresn't much point in trying my luck at that game
until the sound bug is solved somehow.
Thanks,
Tobias

Hi,
I'm trying to get the grips of the unbelievably frustrating space game. First
of all, is the sounds of the incoming ships supposed to be in mono, or is
that a bug? If it's really supposed to be in mono, how the heck am I supposed
to know where the ships are? I've tried to bothtap and long press teh arrow
keys to see if I can hear any difference, but with no luck there. Is it like
the classic Space Invaders in that you have to move the cannon and then fire
vertically upwards or does it actually aim two-dimentionally when you press
teh arrows?
Confusion is the way to enlightenment, as they say.
Thanks,
Tobias

Hi Tobias.
this is most odd. When I played the space game, I heard the ships in sterrio
on either the left or right, and as with pretty much every audio space
invaders game since the year dot, the objective is just to center each ship
and blast it before it lands.
You do this by tapping the arrow keys to move your gun to below where the
ship is (center it's sound), and then hitting enter or space to shoot.
Holding the arrows won't work in this one, actually it reminded me a little
of the air hockey from paladin of the skies.
Certainly the ships appear in sterrio, I don't know why you are hearing them
in mono, unless it's your speakers or headphones, I was playing on headphones
myself and had no problem.
I will say you need to get good at the game, or at least be passable since
there is an area later that requires you to get a reaasonable score to
progress.
Hth.
Dark.
