Well its true we have almost vr sets, a good 7.1 or something gaming set or even a good quality stereo set with all the sounds in the right place will do.
However a concept is nice but as we all know we would need games for this.
And to be honest, it would be easier if we could have mainstream games use such a setup that we could jack in without disturbing the flow of the game.
For us to make such a game I don't know.
I have a good enough set for stereo gaming but I don't have a cash for the big sets. I guess if I knew that for I don't know a year or 6 months I could push down 1000 bucks on a set then I'd do it. This year, it was like this, I invested about 200 bucks in things and put down 200 bucks on upgrades with a further 400 going to go and got hit with at least 700 bucks on broken technology.
So even if things were good you can't trust in fate anymore.
I am sure once I actually decide to upgrade that my hard drive will fail or my battery will explode or something will break blowing me out till next year or even longer.

What with the expo of yet another form of VR headset by sony at a recent expo,
the morpheus VR helmet - as I understand it, it provides full 3D gaming
environments for guys, letting them both 'see' and hear the virtual world

Now, this just brought to mind that, with the right form of 3D sound setup, etc.,
we've already got a full virtual world available to us - from the blind perspective
of some of us..? <smile>

Would really just need the right form of 3D surround sound setup/configuration,
or fully portable/wireless headset, along with forms of gaming controls that
didn't limit movement, etc.?

Stay well
