Hi.

Anyone who was on audiogames.net about a month ago might have already seen the
note about this mud listed. It distinctly caught my attention sinse it really
struck me as different from the usual fantasy hack n slash or rp fest, with a
very distinct world around it.
I just got around to trying the game and I can say I'm quite intreagued.

The mud takes place on fluxworld, an alien planet with a scifi setting. The
unique thing however is combat is at most a very very small! part of the game,
indeed the game mostly plays much closer to interactive fiction, though with
slightly less irritating commands (indeed I found myself over thinking).

There are loads of activities, and in fact lots of activities can be found by
just wandering around. You begin in the promenade, which at first looks like a
small area though there is apparently a huge amount more to explore.

The first unique thing are actual quests to progress involving finding hidden
objects and secret passages, which reward the player with money. The game then
has lots of hidden and not so hidden things to find, indeed you can make money
just by exploring and picking up cash pouches, thugh there are also scavenger
hunts and creatures to catch for money.

You can apparently mine for ore, hunt, fish and farm gamble or play games with
other players at the bar, build spacecraft and even repare damaged parts of the
colony's power grid or fly into orbit to fix up damaged satellites, plus you
can fly to the two moons of fluxworld, though I've not looked much at that,
indeed I've been playing for the last four hours and haven't been many places
just because I've been finding objects and doing quests.

there is combat in the killing fields, (kf), where you can go to fight alien
creatures, but it's just basically another activity, and indeed to be very
honest probably only there as an afterthought, sinse the other activities,
unique world and very interactive environment are really where the game excels.

Thus far I'm quite impressed with the detail, and it also definitely helps that
the dev is not only great about vi access (there is a set blind command and a
substitute for the graphical cumpus), but the principle dev is also willing to
hang about and help people out, indeed he just spent time with me pointing out
facts about the game and giving a couple of hints where required.giving me

Enjoy!

Oh, and btw I'm inventively called dark on there :D.

All the best,

Dark.
There is always more to know, more to see, more to learn. The world is vast and
wondrous strange and there are more things benieth the stars than even the
archmaesters of the citadel can dream.
