It doesn't help that things like the Lifeproof case for the IPhone exist, either. That just encourages people to see how much abuse their phones can take, just to see if the case actually lives up to its name. I think the testing involved having phones being run over by cars. I wouldn't be surprised if similar gear now exists for laptops and other electronics.
