Well Teresa it's actually surprising how many people, (possibly more of them Americans), assume if someone is left wing they automatically want an authoritarian style stalinist government ragiem, indeed a recent copy of 1984 I read intorduced it with the words "George Orwell's stark vision of the final end of comunism" Which is quite a joke since Orwell himself was a socialist, and the very "engsoc" of 1984 was a direct reference to his own "english Socialism"

the book was! a caution, not an anti socialist tome as the introduction I read suggested just as Aldous huxly wasn't anti production.

Anyway bringing this back on track your summation of the three main os choices seems fair, though myself as a none developer it's less easy to comment, since I generally choose the os that lets me do the most of what I want which is at the moment Ios on my phone (games etc), and windows xp on my pc and laptop.

Interestingly enough though, it does seem windows is getting more like apple, none restricted interface view, windows specific stores and developement packages etc.

Then again I admit as a none developer my knolidge of this end is more lacking, particularly since there are things around like python which allow fairly easy cross platform support at least for some things though how they translate to different os and whether they have enough fa functionality to work as supposed I'm not certain.

All the best,

Dark.
