Hi John, I wouldn't say that. I can think of a number of programs designed for Windows 9x that won't run on Windows 7. I can think of a few XP programs that had to be upgraded when I got Windows 7 as well.
For example, when I got my desktop it came with Nero 6.5 and Power DVD 6 which worked well on XP. When I later upgraded that system to Win 7 I also had to upgrade Nero and Power DVD, because neither worked with Windows 7. That's just one example of some software designed for XP that had to be upgraded. Cheers!
