Hi Bryan,
Yes, C. S. Louis was a Christian and it becomes quite evident in his
writings. Sure things are magical, there is an evil witch, and so on but
many of the stories have Christian values and stories that in ways mimic
the biblical stories we have heard as children. In the Magician's son
when Narmia is created it follows a Genesis like story with Azland
filling the place of God in the story. In The Lyon Witch and the
Wardrobe Azland is put to death and raised again from the dead which
clearly was a fictional tail which was patterned after Christ's death in
the bible.
If people only look at the magic, witchcraft, etc present in the stories
they will miss the heart of the tails, and even a sense of the persons
own values.
