Hi Charles,

As I said before the ribbons are fully accessible once you learn how
to use them. For example, if you press the alt key screen readers
should bring you to the home tab on the ribbon and using left and
right arrow keys will move you left and right along it and pressing
enter will select an option. To get to other tabs you can easily jump
to them by using its associated hot key like alt+h for home, alt+v for
view, alt+e, for edit, etc. One way of thinking of ribbons is that
instead of menus that are up and down the options are arranged across
the screen from left to right. So I would say that ribbons are no less
accessible for a blind user than a sighted user with a mouse. However,
if you are coming from an OS like XP to Windows 8, which uses ribbons
in every application, then you need to learn some new hot keys and
ways of doing things to use it properly. I think a lot of this belief
that Windows 8 and ribbons are not accessible comes down to the fact
people don't know how to use it.

Cheers!
