Hi Will, Its easy to make a request or demand that a certain game developer port his or her games to Mac, but you also need to consider the technical expertise and tools to make such a thing possible.
The Sarah game was written in the GMA Engine which requires very little to no actual programming to develop games. Since the GMA Engine was written in Visual Basic 6 it will only run on Windows. What you are proposing is that Phil learn a full blown programming language like C++ or C# .NET and then rewrite the game from scratch for a OS he doesn't even own.. Second, in order to develop software for a Mac he would have to purchase a new Mac running the latest version of Mac OS X on it. Unlike Linux which is free Phil can't just go out and buy and install Mac OS on a virtual machine for software development. He needs the whole works both hardware and software to develop games for Mac. While I sympathize with your frustration at not having good high quality games for the Mac rather than complaining about it here is two options you can do to resolve that problem. One, you can donate the money or a Mac computer to a developer such as myself who has the technical expertise to do what you per pose. Two, you can stop wining about not having games and begin learning how to program games for your Mac. If you don't like those options, "tough titty said the kitty." I am a Linux user myself, and I could make the same complaint that there aren't a great deal of audio games for Linux. However, the difference is I am doing something about that problem and have spent some time this year porting my Evolution Engine to Linux and have removed the code for DirectX and other Windows APIs and replaced them with SDL. Rather than expecting Draconis Entertainment, PCs Games, GMA Games, etc to develop games for me I have plans to port Final Conflict, Mysteries of the Ancients, Raceway, and everything else I write to Linux My point being sometimes if you want something bad enough you just have to do it yourself or pay someone who can.. Cheers!
