Hi Dark,
I have been collecting sound files for years, have bought some sound effect CDs
and get files from the News Groups, but sometimes you just need to make them
yourself. Like one day I was just playing around with the way that a sound
file was being played and I was like hey I could use that sound for Pong. And
in my Battleship game the sound of a miss into the water is just the sound of
me dropping a shot glass into a bucket of water. And if you are going to make
your game self voicing with recorded speech you need to record, cut and edit
all of those speech files. But hey sometimes you have a great idea for a game
and it takes forever to find or make sound files for it and other times you
find sounds and it gives you an idea for a game.
