Hi,

It's really not so problematic. Here's the EXTREME short version:

1) load the webpage+game in your browser (which automatically puts the focus 
on the game)
2) unload your screenreader (which will accidentally remove the focus from 
the game)
3) press [F5] to reload the browser+game+webpage (which automatically puts 
the focus back on the game again)

Now the focus should be on the game and you can play :)
Millions of people play Shockwave games everyday and although only a tiny 
tiny tiny tiny group of people use extra software like screenreaders, 
there's no reason why you can't play a Shockwave (or Flash for that matter) 
game... several people with a physical disability have problems with the 
focus too and they also use [F5] to get the focus on the game. Please do not 
be afraid of Shockwave just because you haven't used it before.
