Hello,
Has anyone ever seen the following ?
I have two Nokia IP440, running IPSO 3.3 and CP FW-1 V4.1-Sp2.
The are using VRRP monitored circuits to fail over, on the internet
side let's call it, two IP addresses, one is used to hide the entire
internal network and one is used to statically hide a management server.
Everything is working fine with the exception to one thing, NTP on the
MASTER. I told both boxes to synchronize their time with an Internal NTP
server, the BACKUP does it just fine, even when it becomes MASTER, but the
MASTER only sync when it becomes BACKUP ... in the Nokia log files I find
the following messages, that I do understand but not what could cause this
:
Feb 28 12:59:55 FWall [LOG_NOTICE] pm[53]: Restarted /bin/xntpd[278],
count=5
Feb 28 12:59:55 FWall [LOG_NOTICE] xntpd[278]: xntpd version=3.4e (beta
multicast); Sep 15 2000 00:27:31
Feb 28 12:59:55 FWall [LOG_NOTICE] xntpd[278]: tickadj = 5, tick = 10000,
tvu_maxslew = 495
Feb 28 12:59:55 FWall [LOG_ERR] xntpd[278]: bind() fd 6, family 2, port 123,
addr 12345678, in_classd=0 flags=1 fails: Can't assign requested address
Feb 28 12:59:55 FWall [LOG_NOTICE] pm[53]: Reaped: xntpd[278]
Thank you for any hint, I checked the config files and they look the
same,
maybe I didn't setup both boxes in the same order, as I first configured
the
MASTER then added the BACKUP
Met vriendelijke groeten - Bien à vous - Kind regards
