Looks like khal sends it's output to a terminal. There's nothing about a background image that would support a text terminal writing to it. I don't think you are on the right track but you might try a transparent, borderless, title-less terminal program. That will still leave you with something blocking window placement and root clicks. Maybe you want some kind of clock program that displays a calendar on request or some kind of appointment manager? -- Dan Espen
