So the correct file is read.

Is the file that defines the root menu in this list?  Have you
double checked the menu name and the binding?  Is there any
problem with numlock or the other sticky modifier keys?

You need to debug the cause of this error message.  To me it looks
like /bin/sh is trying to execute an fvwm configuration file as a
shell script.  Possibly unrelated.

That's something else.  If you cannot figure this out yourself and
write a message to the list, please include the FvwmIconMan config
and the line from FvwmButtons that starts it.
