I did give you two examples of how 'pointless' enviorment variables are not needed, there are other reasons why you would want to use FVWM_USERDIR over fvwm_home (one is all systems know FVWM_USERDIR). please read thomas' writeup. http://fvwm.lair.be/viewtopic.php?t=1505 jaimos
