This means packagers at Ubuntu (and similarly at Debian) use GNU Arch
like revision control systems (tla or baz clients) to keep mainstream and
distribution specific changes (branches) of projects like fvwm.

GNU Arch is similar to cvs/svn in spirit, but uses a different
decentralized approach allowing remote branches and participation
(often each developer manages personal branches on his own machine).

This specific MAIN branch is just a real-time copy of the cvs history
(4319 commits so far). It is unclear whether they provide this branch so
anyone willing to develop using bazaar/arch may have a common
ancestry/history, or they will also create at least one more branch with
their own fvwm changes. Merging between related branches is easy in arch.

For more info, see the last link in the Manoj Srivastava message.

Mikhael.
