I have this in .fvwm2rc DeskTopName 0 Main DeskTop DeskTopName 1 Secondary DeskTop DeskTopSize 2x2 I generally work in the Main one, and keep in the Secondary one things like the web browser, the mail program and a VNC connection to another machine. I've also added some accelerators and convenience functions for window menu to occupy different workspaces, but found that I use them rarely, I more often use the Pager or just drag the window around.
