I would still like that the change from \xtc to \noOutputXtc in

The reason is that I would still like to see the type included in the
book even though the value is hidden.
The reason to discard its output is, as the text bellow described,
it will output a large portion of debugging output.
Oh, maybe I understand now. That debugging output is a problem after
your modification. Otherwise the semicolon at the end at least removes
the output value for that computation. Why suddenly the debugging output
is a problem, I do not yet understand.
Yes, its intention is to combine those lines to discard white lines
in between. I'll add some comments.
Due to the workflow of awk, it seems that I can not do this in a single
awk script, and have to add this new script.
Yes, it maybe difficult to do it in one pass. I still don't like
tex2tex.awk. I'll think about it.
