Great point! I was going to complain that this is great for public grifters
like Sabine but not for conversations at the pub. But what you're saying sounds
a lot like the training we got at Lockheed for both industrial and
clearance-related espionage. That cute person with a Russian accent who just
moved into your apartment complex and wants to play pickleball with you *may*
be a spy. 8^D

E.g. a guy at the pub last night claimed to "train military people to run and shoot stuff" when Renee' asked him what he
did for a living. But soon into the conversation, he told some story about how he was at some bar and ordered a hit of Don Julio
1942 but saw the tender pour it from a different bottle. He want on some macho reactionary tirade about people always trying to
"pull some sh¡t" all the time, ringing the "get off my lawn" bell. So I asked him pointedly whether he only
trains Army or other forces. Army. Of course. The mix of people you get in the army enlisted lends itself to that sort of
personality. At least he wasn't wearing camo. He finished his Ranier tall boy and high-tailed it out of there after Renee' made a
joke about how some of her "Christian" relatives in Texas "probably voted for Trump". >8^D Immunization is a
wonderful thing.

IDK. The one thing I don't hear, here, is when you're reacting to a Bad Faith
actor or argument. It reminds me of Fridman's civility porn. Do you engage
Nazis in Good Faith? Really listen to their grievances and try to compromise
... maybe we can all be a little more Nazi? Why can't we all just get along?
Love each other and give the scorpion a ride when he asks?

Or, do we simply not engage with the Nazis? ... starve the troll? How's that
working out for us so far? Negative speech is best countered by more positive
speech? Really? I don't think that's working in our hyperreal times.

No. Sometimes a document, whole corpus, person, or community need(s) a
drive-by, preferably a layered one with humor or irony at some level to help it
stick to the witnesses' ribs. As long as it's words and not bullets, I guess.
