Yeah, I was there.  Looks like it might be a good start, but it probably
will be a long time until fiber-to-the-home is available for most of Santa
Fe.  What else is new.

But the mayor did say that he is going to ask the city council to open up
8,000 sf of space in the 500 Market St.  (above REI) to start-ups.  Free?
I don't know.  As he said, that space, which now has gigabyte cnx, has been
vacant since the building was constructed.  Of course this is what SF
Complex tried to do 8 yrs ago.  I've seen the mayor recently at a couple
events like this.  I think that unlike his predecessor, he gets the idea of
the Digital Revolution and is genuinely engaged is trying to move ahead.  A
welcome change.

This new gigabyte system is, we are told, an open system, so any provider
can connect and resell the service.
