That would make it even easier because custom devices like tablets
don't necessarily have fully disclosed source code or any particular
interfaces other than what the user sees. Their software stack could
be updated remotely by the vendor (at the demand of government) to
watch all activity. For example, NSA analysts might be interested in
watching drafts of e-mails being developed in real time.
Or turning on your microphone (if not your camera)... are camera LED
lights hardware or software triggered (do we know for sure)?
