I downloaded this website/webapp book from sitepoint, a publisher I've been
using quite a bit lately.  They hold out hope for a modestly converged
mobile world .. without iPhone vs Android divisions.

As far as I can see, this is the web designers dilemma, and they have an
interesting approach: build a mobile friendly website and migrate that to
webapps (currently phonegap).

I think this works for things like the NYTimes or NPR mobile world .. but
likely not for games and devices using the mobile facilities like camera and
acceleration sensor.
