I get the same DNS-error when I try to add the server as a new replica with the "--setup-dns" option.
Replica DNS records could not be added on master: Insufficient access: Insufficient 'add' privilege to add the entry 'idnsname=id2,idnsname=[FULL-DOMAIN-NAME].,cn=dns,dc=[DOMAIN-LEVEL3],dc=[DOMAIN-LEVEL2],dc=[DOMAIN-LEVEL1]'. The server directory during join.
