Actually, I’ve done that n the internal SSD of a Netbook. It kinda works like an OEM Install/Backup partition. Initially it boots to the installer. But once installation onto a new partition is finished, it will boot the installed OS. Then simply change the boot partition, delete the installed partition and reboot. You could then quickly do a fresh install from the “backup” partition.
