Hi! I stumbled upon a long page on PCI soundcards in DOS, Win and Linux: https://flaterco.com/kb/audio/PCI/index.html Compatibility is mediocre at best. Reminds me of the time 15 years ago when I collected sort-of DOS compatible PCI soundcards myself. The website also has a long page about how classic graphics cards no longer are supported in Linux.
