It's difficult to follow all of the details of the discussion. Have you ever looked at getting a shell account on sdf.org? It still supports plain old Telnet I think it comes with an email address. They support POP3 and IMAP access to the email too.
Links and Lynx are available there when using Telnet, but it doesn't look like either have Javascript enabled.
