Greetings all. I'm new to this list, so I hope to not post anything
inappropriate or out of order.
I have an old Dell Optiplex 745 I'm trying to "FreeDos" and am having a couple
of issues.
I have yet to get the USB Laser mouse to work properly. It's an iHome FastTrack
Laser Mouse - a cheap sucker, but it is comfortable in my hand.
The other issue is PCI sound cards. I have an Aureal Vortex2 and also a
Soundblaster Audigy 4. I have fought with all three of these devices for almost
two weeks and simply cannot get them to work properly.
The mouse driver(s) (I've tried many) load without error. But the mouse moves
only to the right. No up, left, or down.
The aureal card claims to initialize but there is no sound from any of the midi
player apps (e.g. Cubic player).
I don't care which sound card I get to work. If there is a driver and entries
for FDAuto and FDConfig that we know will load them, I good with that.
I may try a different mouse, though I'll probably need to have a glass of wine
and a pity party if I have to change.
