Glad to help you! ;-) About coreboot+SeaBIOS: I forgot to tell you that these "AMD no-PSP" boards - G505S laptop / A88XM-E desktop / AM1I-A mini-desktop - sadly got removed from a coreboot master, mostly because we haven't got it working with "resource allocator v4" which has been pushed on us by Intel. In the future we may find a way to bring them back, but for now you may just downgrade the freshly cloned coreboot with a "git reset --hard" command to a Nov 2022 version (back to the time when the boards were still supported) and build for them. More specific instructions could be found in this great manual by my friend Mike - http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Lenovo_G505S_hacking
Also: while AM1I-A provides more interfaces, just 25W CPU and mini-ITX form factor - to be honest, if compared to G505S / A88XM-E - this AM1I-A is not as powerful, lacks IOMMU and the memory controller isn't as great. And it's hard to find a good AM1 cooling nowadays - may have to DIY - and Athlon 5370 is as rare as Yeti so might have settle for a weaker 5350... Meanwhile things are much easier for the A88XM-E desktop, although the A10-7*** CPUs aren't supported by coreboot opensource code - so, despite this board has FM2+ socket, you can only put FM2 CPUs like A10-6700 / A10-6800K. My personal preference is A10-6700 because it's just slightly slower but 1.5x less TDP at the same time - just 65W compared to 100W. And, being a non-K CPU, it is less likely to be degraded by the unwise overclocking of a previous owner. By the way, here's a new Mike's interesting letter about the 5.25" fan controllers - as well as about a new unfolding PC case with 5.25" and 3.5" slots which could be interesting for FreeDOS enthusiasts - https://mail.coreboot.org/hyperkitty/list/coreb...@coreboot.org/thread/RDMSYKLAYZOSUXOMCZSXVGGQAOYQEV5A/ Best regards, Ivan Ivanov чт, 2 мар. 2023 г. в 19:41, Travis Siegel <tsie...@softcon.com>: > > Thanks for that.
