The rules are straightforward but a revision of terminology might help. Scope and topic are distinct concepts. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/scope#Noun sense 1. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/topic#Noun senses 1 and 2. Better to state, "Keep posts on-scope.
