What's your environment? Are you running DOS on the bare metal on an older PC, or are you running in an emulator or a virtual machine? Was it working before? When did it stop working? What changed between wen it worked and when it didn't? If you are running DOS in an emulator or VM, the problem probably isn't in DOS itself, it's in the environment in which it runs.
