Hyper-V is Micro$oft's internal/"native" hypervisor/virtual machine, that comes in a number of higher end Windows 10+/Windows Server versions by default (at least in a limited #of concurrent guests version).

It is just like a lot of Microsoft products very "MIcrosoft centric", so compatibility with something older like DOS might be limited. I personally just have never bother to play with it for all those years...
