Yeah, me too, unfortunately, I won't be available on Saturday to listen
to this live, but I'll look forward to the reply on the channel, please
post when it's linked, and thanks for keeping dos interesting for the
masses.

Hi everyone
I thought you might be interested in my conference talk at
FOSDEM on Saturday /this week/. I'm talking about the history
of spreadsheets in the retrocomputing devroom:
https://fosdem.org/2022/schedule/track/retrocomputing/
From LANPAR to VisiCalc to Lotus 123 to Quattro Pro to
LibreOffice Calc and Excel. It's quite a ride! And I think
you'll find it interesting how spreadsheets have evolved (or
not) since the 1970s. Today's Excel isn't that different from
VisiCalc on the Apple II or on DOS, at least not in the basics
of how to use a spreadsheet.
The talk is pre-recorded but I'll be live in the comments
answering questions throughout.

That sounds interesting. I really hope I can make it and if not,
that there will be an opportunity to watch a replay.
Great! I hope you're able to make it. I'll also record a slightly
different version that's more focused on the "DOS" part, and share it
on our FreeDOS YouTube channel in a few weeks.
A note on timezone: My presentation is at 1700. The conference is
based in Belgium, so that's 1700 Belgium local time. For example,
that's 10am in US/Central time. Use your favorite timezone converter
to find your local time.
