If I remember correctly, v3.0 includes sharing functionality -- it makes DOS into a server. You don't want or need that; it takes a *lot* of memory. You just need the client part. I think the preceding version of the MS Client (v2.5 maybe?) is client-only, no server, which is much easier and takes less RAM.
