If it's only for the purpose of sharing some files (which I assume it 
is), than you may want to try EtherDFS. It would require however to set 
up a little Linux box first, that would run the server part of EtherDFS. 
Then, both DOS machines could access the files on it and run programs 
from there.

On the DOS side, EtherDFS requires only a network card with a packet 
driver.
