Just to state the obvious, FreeDOS can do all of that networking (if you have a working packet driver). Kolibri is obviously very good, nobody's disputing that. However, I consider FreeDOS development tools to be much more robust and easier to use overall. We have more HLLs supported. In fact, I think the Menuet port of Quake used a heavily-modified version of DJGPP's libc! (I guess nobody finished that port of TinyC or else it was incomplete?
