I am using FreeDOS under VMware Player 4.0.2, my problem is that host
machine is a 17" monitor 1080p, which means, the 80x25 windows is too
small.
Is there any way to increase fonts size?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Click on Virtual Machine Settings at the top of the VMware Player
frame. Click on Display (bottom left panel
under the Hardware tab). This should be set to Auto detect.
2. On the right side panel is a box for Monitors. Theis should be set
to "Use host setting for monitors".
3. Click on Options Tab, then on Power in the left hand panel. Put a
check at "Enter full screen

anything)

0. I'm currently in Win Vista. I have VMware player 4.0.2 as well. At
the moment, I'm running ms-dos 6.22.
Put a
check at "Enter full screen mode after
powering on. Click OK at the botton (odds are you haven't changed
anything)
4. Click the Windows START icon (bottom left). Click on Control Pane.
Look for a line that says Adjust
Screen Resolution, and click on it.
5. Change your screen resolution. I'm assuming a you have a fairly modern
monitor, You may want to try
800 x 600 resolution (which is about as close as you can get to a
DOS-style SVGA screen) or 1024 x 768
(which is reasonable for DOS and Win 98 if you're emulating them both) or
perhaps 1280 x 1024.
6. Your VMware frame should become appropriately larger.
The drawback, of course, is that this resets the resolution for everything
on the monitor, so you need to reset
the resolution when you quit your emulator session. The easiest fix (not
the cheapest) is to get a decent
second monitor and move your emulator sessions to it. You can probably get
a refurbished 1440x 900
LCD monitor forabout a hundred bucks at Amazon, and maybe find something
cheaper at a Goodwill or
in Craigslist.
Good luck.
