Okay, it's hard to understand what he wants and why. I noticed that he mentioned MS-DOS / Win9x, so I assumed he meant share that with FreeDOS (which makes more sense, practically, than otherwise). There's really no reason to run FD 1.0 and 1.1 side-by-side. Presumably you don't want to run separate (old) utilities from 1.0 anyways. So that part should stay the same, IMO. So basically you're only sharing the kernel, but even that (in theory) shouldn't be needed. So unless you know of specific apps (or just want to test) that need a specific kernel (2037?), I wouldn't bother. But KERNEL.SYS is really the only file to worry about (shell should be the same). In short, if you want to dual boot between FreeDOS versions, you're basically only worrying about the kernel. In that case, a simple "ren kernel.sys kernel2.sys" and "ren kernel3.sys kernel.sys" should do it (and reboot, of course).
